What is “ROI”?

Since our business is called “Mission ROI,” it seems appropriate to ask a simple question: So, just what is “ROI”? How do YOU define “ROI”?

It is usually translated as “return on investment.” Investment of what? I like the way Entrepreneur.com translates it: “Return on investment, or ROI, is the most common profitability ratio.” It is a tool that can be used many different ways to measure the profitability of an organization.

While “ROI” is most commonly understood as “return on investment,” it may be more accurate to define “i” differently. Maybe your company needs to measure your “return on innovation” or “return on implementation.” Perhaps, you need to look at your “return on individuals” to see if your people are aligned properly. You are making investments everyday. What are those investments, and are they doing what you would like them to do? That’s where we can help you.

What you invest in, how much, and how you use your investments are critical to measure and understand. We use this information to make assessments that will help empower your leadership to determine the road ahead.
